The PremmieEd project aims to understand parent’s perceptions and experiences of their child’s schooling and development. We also want to know whether parent’s views of their child’s education experience are impacted by extremely preterm birth (birth before 28 weeks of pregnancy). Most past research has focused on what researchers or health professionals think are the important issues and areas to focus on. However, parents are an expert knowledge group when it comes to their children and parent perceptions of how their child is developing is crucial.

Findings from this project will help to make sure that future research focuses on what really matters to parents, in helping to improve the development and well-being of children born extremely preterm and their families.

We are currently inviting families in the VICS2016/17 cohort to participate.
